What is Artrumour?

Artrumour pulls the lid of the contemporary art world. What's exposed might not be pleasant, but the Artrumour team of crusaders fearlessly plunge in to bring you back what's going on the shady, murky and often paralytic world of British contemporary art. Our team forage around exhibitions and openings, gallery talks and parties, looking for the best inside information around. We're anonymous. We know who you are. We know where you live. Artrumour: we tell it like it is. Unless, of course, you pay us.

What's your mission statement?

As we are now a big corporate player, Artrumour ought to have a mission statement and a philosophy. Unfortunately our mission statement-utterer and philosopher has recently suffered a minor breakdown, so we've culled a few from McDonalds, with minimal alteration to avoid being sued. So here goes.

What's your motivation?

Remember: you might think that we're just a bunch of boozy, partying art hacks remorselessly dishing the dirt on everybody else in the contemporary art world for 5 minutes of fame and shallow celebrity, but in fact there's absolutely no fame or shallow celebrity involved on our side of this business. Which is a shame, but you can't win them all. Remember folks: Artrumour - we're there so you don't have to be.
