Milch
is part of a legend which still has never
been fully documented. Although now to be
found in a converted warehouse in Vauxhall,
the original incarnation of the gallery
in Russell Square was synonymous with Lawren
Maben, the extraordinary, tattooed drifter
who transfixed London's artworld in the
early 1990s before his premature death in
1995. Under Maben the gallery showed artists
such as Douglas Gordon and the late Hamad
Butt's beautiful and melancholy work. Now
the fourth incarnation of the gallery is
located in converted warehouse and has given
a number of new artists first exhibitions.
Always worth a visit to look out for new
talent.
