The
gallery was opened in 1997 serving as a
non-profit gallery and has shown a number
of unknowns who have gone on to hit the
big-time such as Liz Arnold, Jane Simpson
and Kerry Stewart. On the back of this many
of the shows these days sell out to punters
looking for the next big thing and recent
showings of Emma Kay and Michael Raedecker
show that Miller hasn't lost his touch.
Along with Interim and Anthony Wilkinson,
The Approach forms the Bethnal Green triangle
of contemporary spaces although it might
be fair to say that Wilkinson is the gooseberry
(in the nicest possible way) in this cosy
menage a trois.
